Meet Phil Simons

Phil’s passion for estate planning and administration stems from a deep respect for the values of hard work, family, and community. He considers it a privilege to help individuals preserve the legacy of their life’s efforts—ensuring that what they’ve built continues to benefit loved ones and neighbors for generations. Phil strives to give each client not just a plan, but peace of mind, clarity, and confidence in the future.

A native of Salisbury, North Carolina, Phil grew up surrounded by the close-knit spirit of small-town life—something he immediately appreciated in Smithfield. He joined Narron Wenzel in 2025 after clerking with the firm the previous summer. Phil earned his Juris Doctor, with honors, from Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, where he was a leader of the Christian Legal Society and served as a Writing Scholar for first-year students.

Phil holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Political Science and Media & Journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, along with a minor in History. During his time at Carolina, he was a dedicated member of the UNC Men’s Crew team, where he met his wife, Kathryn, who rowed for the Women’s Crew team. To this day, Phil enjoys any opportunity to be out on the water.

In 2012, Phil earned his Eagle Scout rank with Troop 442 in Salisbury. He credits Scouting with instilling many of the values that guide his personal and professional life.

Phil is a member of Christ Church in Raleigh and enjoys spending time outdoors with his family anywhere in the great state of North Carolina.
